Hi, I’m Nino Carandang, just another enthusiast and regular photographer. At one point in my life, I was the founder and chief editor of iCreate Magazine and Digital Photographer Philippines. After leaving the publication, I went on to become a GTM and marketing professional, serving as Western Digital’s country channel marketing representative and later as Huawei’s GTM director. Later I became the Head of Smart WiFi for PLDT Enterprise and was responsible for providing free public Wi-Fi in airports, universities, and malls. I transitioned to PLDT Home as the Assistant Vice President and Head of Retail and Online Acquisition. I am a graduate of the the Asian Institute of Management where I completed my Masters in Business Administration.
I still enjoy traveling and shooting whenever the opportunity arises. I primarily shoot in black and white, but I do experiment with color on occasion. As of 2025, I own several cameras, namely a Sony A7RIII (with a variety of Sony lenses), a Leica Q3, a Leica CL, and a Leica SL (with approximately 2 50mm and 3 35mm lenses from Voigt, Leica, Zeiss, Canon, and even Konica Minolta). When shooting for personal projects, I primarily use the Leica Q3 now.
I started 35MM to provide myself a creative and leisurely outlet, which is very important in my stressful line of work. It serves as more than simply a photo sharing platform; it’s my own virtual haven for stress alleviation and self-expression. This records my feelings and experiences and acts as my visual journal.
